Volker Heistermann is Vice President, Sales in the Media Group at Rutberg & Company.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Heistermann managed online advertising sales at AT&T, where he sold online advertising and search engine marketing solutions in partnership with Yahoo! and AOL. Mr. Heistermann joined AT&T from Google, where he conducted SWOT analyses of the German search engine market and analyzed Google's ability to procure relevant information on navigational queries.

Previously, Mr. Heistermann was Manager of Market Intelligence, at IDG, where he developed and directed IT research programs and conferences. Clients included Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Saatchi & Saatchi, and McCann-Erickson. Prior to his move to the United States , Mr. Heistermann founded Sun Industrial Cooperation GmbH, a company based in Germany and China . The company offered localization and consulting services for joint ventures for German and Chinese businesses.

Mr. Heistermann holds a B.A. in Financial Law from the University of Bielefeld in Germany.
