TLcom Capital LLP ("TLcom") is a London-based venture capital firm focused on generating superior returns by investing in communications and related technology segments in Europe and Israel to build global winners. TLcom is focused on the backing of strong entrepreneurs in the ICT domain with an intent to produce extraordinary returns to our investors. We do so by endorsing the Silicon Valley investment model of accepting high risk of company loss in exchange for outstanding upside on the individual companies we invest. We believe this model of investment is the most tested in our domain and the only one to work consistently across cycles.
The firm is built around the Silicon Valley venture capital model in the pursuit of "homerun" investment opportunities and the deep business building skills of its four senior partners, who have a US based academic background (Stanford, Harvard), and worked together for more than 10 years in world class companies in technology (Cisco, Cable & Wireless), venture capital and private equity (DFJ, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners), high growth start ups (CommProve), and strategy consulting (McKinsey, Bain & Company). TLcom invests in highly skilled and motivated entrepreneurs and management teams with compelling intellectual property and disruptive technologies, applications or business models with the potential to disrupt or define global markets, focusing on high growth segments within large established global markets undergoing relevant discontinuities, or on emerging markets positioning for high speed global growth. Our investment strategy is based on our core industry competence in communication technology, applications and services, and emphasizes the role that the emerging digital consumer and digital enterprise are playing in defining innovation and change across multiple platforms including: internet applications and services; mobile and fixed communications; semiconductors and materials. We invest mostly - although not exclusively - in early stage / pre-revenue ventures, with a target equity deployment averaging 6 to 12 million per company, a leading or co-leading role at least in our first participating round, a proactive, business building oriented board participation on behalf of one or more of the senior partners, and a 20%+ target ownership at exit.
