Rajeev Chand serves as Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst for Wireless at Rutberg & Company. Mr. Chand is responsible for leading the firm's venture capital and merger and acquisition research practice in the wireless industry. Specifically, he develops thought capital on investment trends and opportunities; provides transaction counsel to the ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, and acquirers; and serves as an industry analyst for innovation and growth. He and his team have categorized and track approximately 2,200 privately held companies in wireless globally, representing $6.2 billion in trailing-twelve-month venture capital. In addition, he works with over 100 publicly held companies, across carriers, media and entertainment companies, Internet firms, and solutions providers, to understand, formulate, and evaluate investment and acquisition theses.
Mr. Chand is a frequent speaker at private equity, wireless, media and entertainment, and academic events. Since initiating coverage on the wireless industry in September 2001, Mr. Chand has presented at 3GSM World Congress, CONNECTIONS, CTIA Wireless, CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment, DEMOmobile, GLOBALCOMM, HBSTech, Interop, MIT/Stanford VLAB, TiEcon, Under the Radar, UCLA WINMEC, Wi-Fi Planet, Wireless Ventures, and VentureOne Summit, among others. In addition, Mr. Chand has appeared on CNNfn, and his research has been cited in Barron's, Billboard, BusinessWeek, Daily Deal, Economist, Electronic Engineering Times, Fortune, International Herald Tribune, Private Equity Week, RCR, San Jose Mercury News, Technology Review, Unstrung, Wall Street Journal, and Wireless Week, among others. Mr. Chand received a DEMOgod award at DEMOmobile 2004, has served as the wireless special interest group co-chair for TiE Silicon Valley, and has served on the advisory board of Mobile Business EXPO. Mr. Chand's research is published monthly to a readership of over 80,000 professionals.
Most recently, Mr. Chand served as Director of Research for iSherpa Capital, a seed stage venture capital firm. Previously, Mr. Chand served as a strategy consultant with Accenture. He earned an undergraduate business degree from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
